Vol. 325 No. 7

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

400.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that telephones are currently being installed at Hillcrest Estate, Lucan, County Dublin and that a person there (details supplied) who applied for a telephone service has not yet been quoted terms; and if he can now arrange for the person to be quoted terms.

Service for this applicant is dependent on the provision of additional main cabling which it is expected will be completed within the next six months or so. A limited number of cables are available and are being used to meet earlier applications.

401.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the medical circumstances of persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, he will grant priority for a telephone service to these applicants; and if he will indicate when a service will be supplied.

No evidence has been furnished to my Department that would warrant according this application priority treatment over earlier applications. If medical evidence is furnished the application will be reviewed sympathetically. The present forecast is that service will be provided during the second half of next year.

402.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for an applicant (details supplied) in County Dublin.

Because of the volume of engineering work on hands in the Dublin area it is unlikely that service will be provided for at least another year.
