asked the Minister for the Environment if he will indicate for each local authority the money which has been provided in the Estimates for the following in 1982: (a) major and (b) small water and sewerage schemes.
Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.
The Estimates for my Department's Vote do not provide for separate allocations for individual local authorities. The following are the sums provided in the Estimate for 1982 in respect of public water and sewerage schemes—
Subhead F.1. Water supply and Sewerage, etc. Subsidies £21,225,000. Subhead F.3. Public Water Supply Grants £4,000,000. The latter figure was augmented by £1 million consequent on the provision of an additional £7.8 million capital for sanitary services in the recent budget. In addition, in the public capital programme a global sum is provided for non-voted capital for sanitary services on the basis of which allocations may be made by my Department to local authorities during the year. The provision for 1982, as augmented in the recent budget, is £82.4 million of which £76.4 million is for major public schemes and £4.5 million for small public schemes.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will indicate for each local authority the following information: (a) the number of water and sewerage schemes for which application has been lodged from that authority with the Department of Finance; (b) the estimated cost of each scheme; and (c) the stage at which each scheme is and when work will commence upon it.
Applications by sanitary authorities for sanctions to loans for water and sewerage schemes are made to my Department and I take it that this is what the Deputy is referring to. With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to circulate within the Official Report a table giving particulars of loan applications on hands. I am not at present in a position to indicate when work on each scheme is likely to commence.
The following is the table:—
