Vol. 335 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Donegal Sewerage Schemes.

837.

asked the Minister for the Environment the sewerage schemes for Donegal waiting for sanction from his Department; and when he expects each of them to commence.

The following is a list of sewerage schemes in Donegal for which the relevant local authority proposals are awaiting sanction in my Department:

(a) Donegal County Council

—Ballyshannon sewerage scheme (stage 1);

—Castlefin sewerage scheme (extension to Corcullion);

—Kilcar sewerage scheme;

—Carrick sewerage scheme;

—Ballybofey/Stranorlar sewerage scheme (stage 1);

—Burtonport sewerage scheme;

—Annagry sewerage scheme;

—Donegal main drainage scheme (stage 1, phase 2);

—Glencolmcille sewerage scheme;

—Manorcunningham sewerage scheme.

(b) Buncrana UDC

—Buncrana sewerage scheme (main scheme and advance section).

(c) Bundoran UDC

—Bundoran sewerage scheme.

It is not possible at present to indicate when these schemes would be likely to commence. The approval of the relevant proposals must be considered in the context of the large number of water and sewerage schemes already in progress or getting to construction for which adequate finance must be provided.
