Regulation No. (EEC) 1820/80, which governs this scheme is very strict with regard to eligibility. Article 4 of the regulation states that applicants who qualify for grant aid must be principally dependent on agriculture for their income.
There are some points in the application of the particular person on which further clarification was needed and a letter in the matter was issued by my Department on 18 October 1983. On receipt of a response from the applicant a final decision on the application will be taken without further delay.
