Vol. 345 No. 3

Written Answers. - Foxrock (Dublin) Vandalism.

425.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will ensure that there is a constant Garda patrol in Torquay Wood, Foxrock, Dublin 18 as there has been a number of incidents of vandalism and attacks on children there recently.

Limerick East): The precise arrangements made for the allocation of manpower between foot patrols and other duties in any particular area are a matter for the local Garda officers, having regard to available resources, local circumstances and other demands on Garda services.

The Garda authorities report that the Torquay Wood area receives as much Garda attention as practicable from foot and mobile patrols operating from Blackrock station. There has been a substantial increase in Garda strength at Blackrock over the past 12 months and this additional manpower has enabled the patrolling arrangements for all areas served from the station to be improved. The question of further improvements in the patrolling arrangements for the areas in question will be kept under review.
