The new bridge at Shop Street, Drogheda, County Louth, was substantially completed on 21 June 1983. The Commissioners of Public Works do not own the bridge and the question of a hand-over of the property does not arise. The statutory and legal requirements in connection with the transfer of ownership of land areas adjoining the bridge are being pursued.
