The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of the third part of a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in County Galway has been informed that a mortgage subsidy due to him will not be paid for nine weeks from the date of application; and the reason for the delay in making this payment.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 370 and 371 together.
An application for the third instalment of the mortgage subsidy was received in this case on 23 November 1983. Payment of this instalment will be made as soon as possible. Payment of mortgage subsidy takes approximately four to five weeks from the date of receipt of a claim in my Department. I am not aware that the applicant in this case was informed otherwise.
