A mortgage subsidy cannot be paid to the person named as he is not eligible under the scheme. He is a single person who commenced his house and executed his mortgage deed between 23 July 1981, and 24 March 1982, when the mortgage subsidy was restricted to married persons and persons about to marry.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

The file in this case is with my Department's inspector for a report on the applicant's eligibility for a grant. On receipt of this report the matter will be finalised as quickly as possible.

The fourth instalment of the mortgage subsidy was paid on 24 June 1983 and the fifth instalment will be paid shortly.
