The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Mr. Prior, happened to be in Brussels on Tuesday, 29 November 1983, on business related to the European Community. I myself was there for a meeting of the Council on the same day. We took the opportunity to have a meeting over lunch and to discuss matters of mutual concern. I believe we should always avail of such opportunities when they present themselves.
As is normal practice, neither Mr. Prior nor I comment on the content of these meetings which are strictly confidential.
