Approval in principle was given in January 1982 to a proposal to construct a swimming pool in Ballina which was estimated to cost £462,000. Contract documents in respect of a swimming pool with an estimated cost of £1,136,715, were forwarded by Mayo County Council to my Department on 13 April 1983. The documents are under examination in my Department, involving discussions between my technical advisers and those of the local authority. I cannot say at this stage when the proposal might be allowed to proceed.
