269.

270.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism if he will guarantee that Irish-made materials are used in the building of advance factories commissioned by the IDA.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 267 to 270, inclusive, together. I am satisfied that, consistent with our EEC obligations and the need to ensure that public money is being spent to the best advantage, the Industrial Development Authority make every effort to maximise the use of Irish goods and services in the construction of advance factories. About 80 per cent of the cabling used in the advance factory in New Ross was made by an Irish firm.
