Housing authorities are responsible for the maintenance and repair of their housing stock. For this purpose it is open to them to use all their rental income together with a proportion of the proceeds of sales of local authority dwellings. There are no funds available to me out of which special grants could be made to local authorities for the purpose suggested by the Deputy.
