I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that there was an unfortunate delay in dealing with the tax-payer's application for a refund for the year 1982-83. The particulars furnished in support of the claim were not comprehensive but the repayment has been computed on the basis of the information available and a cheque in respect of overpaid tax has been issued. The inspector has written to the taxpayer for the information necessary to finalise the position for the year and when this is supplied the case will be reviewed and any necessary adjustment carried out.
