An application for the making of a prohibitory order under section 6 of the Foreshore Act, 1933, in respect of an area of seashore along Maghery Strand by Donegal County Council is under consideration in my Department.
The making of a prohibitory order does not preclude me from granting a licence to remove beach material for an area covered by an order if it is in the public interest to do so and if recommended by the county council.
