Money for national school building work is not allocated on a county by county basis.
Capital expenditure on national schools in any year arises from commitments entered into by the Office of Public Works in respect of the erection and furnishing of new schools and extension and schemes of improvements to existing schools. The following was the total capital expenditure on national schools in County Donegal for the years 1980-1983.

Such expenditure to date in 1984 was £48,624.
The moneys voted in 1984 will be sufficient to finance all capital commitments likely to arise for schools in the county during the year.
