I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that it was found necessary to refer the VAT repayment claims from the person concerned for audit to the inspector of taxes. Following set-off of unpaid declared liabilities for earlier tax periods a cheque for the balance due to the trader was issued on 12 March 1984.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the long delay involved in having a refund of tax made available to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford and when payment will be made.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has no record of having received an application for repayment of income tax in this case. On the basis of the information at present available to the inspector, there would be no refund due for the year 1982-83 or the current year 1983-84. The inspector will communicate with the taxpayer in the matter as soon as possible.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a replacement cheque in settlement of the claim has now been issued.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a cheque in settlement of claims to repayment of value-added tax from the person concerned was issued on 12 March 1984, after set-off of an unpaid declared liability for PAYE/PRSI.

asked the Minister for Finance if a refund of income tax will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, as he has been out of work since 21 December 1983.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that there is no record of an application for a tax refund in this case. The inspector of taxes will now take up the matter directly with the taxpayer.
