asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason that livestock grants have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the total amount of money to be paid for each grant due to him; the date on which he will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named has been paid £626.94 calf premium and £280 calved heifer grant already and will be paid £192 beef cow grant under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes in due course when the batch which includes his payment is processed. He will also be paid EEC suckler cow premium of £150.54 when payments under the 1983 scheme commence later this month.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a farm building grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

As the work in question was undertaken without the prior written approval of the farm development service, it is not eligible for grant aid.

574.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if in view of the serious financial problems suffered by farmers who completed farm modernisation projects and failed to qualify for the complete grant, he has any plans to introduce emergency legislation to pay a portion of these grants.

Grant-aid under the farm modernisation scheme, is not payable to farmers who fail to fulfil the requirements of the scheme. In view of the limited resources available, it is not proposed to change these arrangements.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the number of farm modernisation grants that were not paid in Cork north-west due to applicants not having adhered to the specific grant requirements; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Information is not available on the number of grants which were not paid under the farm modernisation scheme due to the applicants' failure to adhere to the conditions of the scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if a calf subsidy grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The person named will be paid his calf premium shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for immediate payment of cattle and sheep headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named will be paid his cattle headage grant under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes in due course when the batch which includes his payment is processed. He has been paid his sheep headage grant already.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a heifer grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The person named has been paid his 1983 calved heifer grant already.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a beef cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named will be paid his beef cow grant under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes in due course when the batch which includes his payment is processed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when calf subsidy payments will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The person named will be paid his calf premium in due course when the batch which includes his payment is processed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a cattle headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named was paid his 1983 cattle headage grant on 2 December 1983. The payable order which was destroyed in a fire at his home has been cancelled and a new payable order will be issued to him shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when an agricultural grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

To qualify for aid the work would need to have been completed by 30 September 1983. As notification of completion of work was not received by that date a grant cannot be paid.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will expedite payment of a calf premium headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named will be paid his calf premium and cattle headage grant in due course when the batches which include his payments are processed.

584.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a grant under the farm modernisation scheme has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he is prepared to have his case reviewed.

An application for grant aid in this case was received early in 1983 but was not approved prior to suspension of part of the farm modernisation scheme on 9 February 1983. If applicant wishes to apply under the revised scheme introduced early in 1984, his case will be considered.
