Vol. 349 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Donegal National School Damage.

611.

asked the Minister for Education when an official of her Department called to inspect damage caused to Keadue national school, County Donegal; when the report was received by her Department; and the steps that have been taken to rectify the situation.

I advised the Deputy on 19 January 1984, in reply to previous questions on that date about storm damage caused to Keadue national school, that preliminary reports had been received from the Commissioners of Public Works, who are responsible for the provision of national school accommodation and that further detailed reports were awaited.

The representatives of the commissioners inspected the damage on 13 January 1984 and a report to this effect was conveyed to the Buildings Section, Primary Branch of my Department on 17 January 1984. The more detailed reports of the commissioners are awaited, following the receipt and consideration of which my Department will be in communication with the school authorities regarding the longer-term arrangements for school accommodation in Keadue. My information is that temporary accommodation is currently being used in place of the damaged pre-fabricated classroom.
