Before building regulations can be made, it is necessary to enact amending legislation to broaden the scope of the regulations to deal with matters not covered by the existing legislation. A new Bill for this purpose was presented to the Dáil on 9 February. Building regulations will be made as soon as possible after the Bill is enacted.
