The design for this scheme has been approved by my Department and Galway County Council. My Department's inspector is currently preparing cost estimates for the scheme to enable the question of a special contribution and the allocation of grants to be considered. I cannot say at this stage when grants may be allocated for this scheme or the amount of such grants but there will be no avoidable delay so far as my Department is concerned.
