In November 1983 my Department was informed that the number of eligible pupils availing themselves of the primary school transport service in question had fallen below the minimum number normally required to maintain a service. In accordance with normal procedure the management authorities of the schools to which the service operates were asked to inform the parents concerned of the possible termination of the service.
However on further examination of the case it has been decided because of the particular circumstances obtaining to maintain the service in question subject to periodic review.
