The draft Bill to extend the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Act, 1977, and to introduce enabling provisions for the introduction of sub-board structures in State enterprises is being finalised. My intention is to be in a position to introduce the Bill this session or at least during the Christmas recess.
I hope to be in a position to introduce a Safety, Health and Welfare (Offshore Installations) Bill during the current session. This Bill will provide measures for the safety, health and welfare of persons on installations concerned with the exploration for minerals in the waters in or surrounding the State and generally for the safety of such installations and the prevention of accidents on or near them.
