A survey carried out by the Office of Public Works indicated that the main improvement work required at Helvick is the dredging of the harbour in order to increase berthage and flotation. A boring survey will be necessary before definite costings can be prepared and my Department are pursuing this with the Office of Public Works. Pending the outcome of that survey I cannot say when work will be carried out on the harbour.
