asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the provision of new classrooms at St. Marnock's national school, Portmarnock, County Dublin.

My Department has agreed in principle to grant aid the provision of six new semi-permanent classrooms at St. Marnock's national school, Portmarnock, County Dublin. My Department's professional advisers have had discussions on the design aspect of the project with the school chairman's architect, and are now awaiting submission of a specific recommendation with costings, so that the grant may be formally sanctioned. It is not possible at this stage to say when building work will commence.

asked the Minister for Education the reason there is such a delay in providing an improvement to Garristown national school, Garristown, County Dublin, and when work will commence.

My Department has approved in principle a proposal to improve the existing accommodation at Garristown national school, County Dublin, and to extend the building.

Contract documents have been prepared and, subject to the outcome of a review of the enrolment trends, a decision on the question of inviting tenders for the proposed works will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible.
