asked the Minister for the Environment the reason the plans for a house of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny were rejected in September 1985, when the engineer who designed the house has designed many similar houses, all of which were grantaided; and the reason no further reply has been received to Deputy Crotty's representations of November 1985.

The application in this case was rejected as the floor area of the house is in excess of the statutory limit of 125 sq. m. (i.e. 1.346 sq. ft.). Subsequent proposals submitted to reduce the floor area of the house were received and examined in my Department but were found to be unacceptable. A reply to the Deputy's representations of 14 November 1985 was issued on 29 November 1985.
