asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

203.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford was refused payment of a house improvement grant despite the fact he has been residing in the house since 1975 and not 1978 as stated in the reply from his Department.

A grant cannot be allowed as contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the required waiting period has not elapsed since the date of payment of a new house grant on 24 January 1979.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 as the receipt he submitted on 5 February 1987 from the contractors that carried out the installations was not properly processed if he will now accept that, in view of the delay of eight or nine weeks as a result of the receipt being misplaced, this applicant is exempt from any subsequent regulations that have been made; and if a grant will issue to him in the near future.

The grant will be paid when it is established on final inspection that the work has been satisfactorily completed.

Notification of completion of work has not yet been received.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in having a new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

There has been no undue delay in this case. The grant will be paid within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Waterford will receive payment of a new house grant.

The receipt of additional documentation requested from the applicant is awaited.

An inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks with a view to payment of the grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Waterford will receive payment of a new house grant and a builders grant.

A £2,000 new house grant will be paid if following an inspection it is established that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been fulfilled. This inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks. The £2,250 grant, which is payable to the builder of the house, will be paid in two equal instalments 12 and 18 months from the date of completion of the house.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Waterford qualifies for a house improvement grant.

Payment of the grant will be further considered on receipt of certain information requested from the applicant.
