The question of the provision of additional library facilities in Cork RTC has been the subject of correspondence and discussions between my Department, the college authorities and City of Cork VEC. Resolution of the matter is subject to agreement between the parties involved as to utilisation of accommodation generally in the college in the context of present and projected enrolments and course programmes.
The position regarding the provision of facilities for those requiring medical attention and the provision of a careers guidance service in the college is that my Department has received no such proposals from City of Cork VEC. Any such proposals would have to be considered in the light of present financial constraints and the embargo on the creation of posts in the public service.
