Because of the pressure on the capital funds available to my Department for the national schools building programme, I am not in a position to say when the proposed scheme to refurbish and extend the premises being used by Scoil Uí Dhálaigh national school, Leixlip, County Kildare can be implemented. Arrangements are in hands, however, to grant aid the replacement of temporary classroom accommodation which is unsatisfactory.

asked the Minister for Education when it is intended to provide permanent accommodation for Confey College in Leixlip, County Kildare, which is at present housed in pre-fabs.
As this project is only at the preliminary planning stage, it is not possible to indicate at this juncture when the permanent accommodation will be provided. Progress in this project, as in all other cases, will also depend on the availability of capital.
