No proposals have been made to my Department in respect of an airport facility at the Custom House Docks. I would draw attention to the Government's decision to approve State expenditure in excess of £34 million on the construction of a new runway and associated facilities at Dublin Airport. Work on this project is now well underway and it is expected that the new runway will be completed by June, 1989. The new runway will be sufficient to meet Dublin airport's passenger traffic requirements for the foreseeable future.
