Vol. 378 No. 3

Written Answers. - Public Health Nursing Course.

123.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement regarding the provision of the Diploma in the Public Health Nursing Course in University College, Dublin; whether the course is being provided at present, and will be in future; if not, the reason; and whether his Department intends to intervene financially in this context.

There is a course in progress at present in University College, Dublin for the award of the Diploma in Public Health Nursing. The college has advertised places on a course to commence next autumn. The decision on whether the course will proceed will depend on the demand for places. I have no reason, at present, to expect that the course will not proceed.

While I am not involved in the financing of the course the health boards through sponsorship of students may contribute indirectly to financing.
