I am not aware of a study undertaken by my Department on the concept of a cottage hospital. My Department have been involved with the Eastern Health Board in preparing a brief for community nursing units, providing a range of services for the elderly and their careers. The Eastern Health Board have made proposals to my Department for the planning of a number of such units. These proposals are under consideration at present.
