The Government decided to terminate with effect from 30 June 1987 the arrangements, decided by the Government, whereby CIE provided financial support to the Londonderry and Lough Swilly Railway Company in respect of the provision by them of bus services. The company have initiated legal proceedings in relation to these arrangements.
A joint submission from the company and unions seeking the restoration of the arrangements was received by me in September 1989 and is under examination in my Department.
