150 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of finance he will provide in 1990 to Kildare County Council for the continuation of the structural works scheme on the houses in Dara Park, Newbridge, County Kildare.
151 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment if he intends to continue the structural works scheme for the upgrading and improvement of low cost housing; the number of such houses in each county; the number of such houses that have been restructured in each county; the average cost per house of this restructuring; the amount of money he has made available to each county to the end of 1989 for this scheme; and the amount of money he will make available to each county for this scheme in 1990.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 150 and 151 together.
The management, maintenance and improvement of their dwellings is the responsibility of local authorities. Information on the number and type of dwellings in each county which require refurbishment on the number of the dwellings which have been refurbished at any particular point in time and on unit costs is not readily available in my Department and the compilation of the information would require a disproportionate amount of staff resources. The capital funding which has been drawn by authorities under the remedial works scheme to the end of 1989 is set out in the statement below. The 1990 applications will be notifed to authorities shortly.
In the case of Dara Park, approval issued last month to the seeking of tenders for phase 3 which will involve work on up to 60 dwellings.
