Ceist:85 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Finance the number of licences for the hunting of otters which have been issued each year since the enactment of the Wildlife Act, 1976; and the number of otters which have been killed.
Written Answers. - Otter Hunting Licences.
For each of the years 1978-89 four licences in all issued as follows: (1) Cork City Otter Hunt, (2) Bride View Otter Hunt, (3) Bride Valley Otter Hunt, (4) Desmond Otter Hunt.
In 1977 three licences in all issued to (1), (2) and (3).
The number of otters killed is as follows: 1977, 7; 1978, 9; 1979, 12; 1980, 13; 1981, 12; 1982, 10; 1983, 9; 1984, 18; 1985, 11; 1986, 11; 1987, 9; 1988, 7.
