118 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he has any proposals to increase the maximum ceiling of grant aid for pollution works under the farm improvement programme; and which up-to-date and factual costings will be taken into account for grant aid purposes.

The investment ceiling in the farm improvement programme is the maximum allowable under the EC regulation on which the programme is based. The standard costings used for grant purposes are under review at present.
