Vol. 398 No. 6

Written Answers. - Intermediate Certificate Concession.

John Bruton

Ceist:

67 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education the reason a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who is suffering from dyslexia and has a reading age of eight and a half is being refused a concession for his intermediate certificate examination this year.

Having carefully examined all aspects of the case in question, my Department are satisfied that special consideration is not warranted in the marking of this candidate's scripts. This decision was taken following detailed analysis of the test results submitted with the application, and after the psychologists in my Department had conducted some further investigations to help in deciding the case.
