Vol. 398 No. 10

Written Answers. - Access Facilities for Disabled Persons.

152.

the Minister for Social Welfare if he will list the offices used by his Department to which easy access by means of ramps and lifts does not exist for those using wheelchairs; the services provided in these offices; and the plans to improve access.

I am conscious of the need to provide easy access for disabled persons to the Department's offices. The necessary facilities are available in all the Department's headquarters buildings where members of the public have access and in newer local offices.

However, because of the large number of offices which the Department operate throughout the country, it would not be possible in the time available to establish the position at each office and supply the information requested by the Deputy. This information is being compiled and will be supplied to the Deputy when available.
