66 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Energy the estimated amount spent by the Government and State bodies on energy research, development and demonstration, distinguishing (a) rational use of energy, (b) renewable energy sources and (c) other means in each of the past ten years; and the proportion which was supported by EC funds in each year.
The information sought has been published by Eolas since 1987 and, before that, by the National Board for Science and Technology.
Information in respect of the years 1985 to 1988, inclusive, is provided in Table 1 which follows; information in respect of the years 1980 to 1984, inclusive, in a less detailed format than in the later years, is provided in Table 2.
Data for 1989 has not yet been complied.
