81 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment when finance will be provided to Tipperary South Riding County Council to construct new reservoirs at Killenaule and Cappanagrawn, County Tipperary in order to alleviate a serious problem with water supply in these areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
It is intended to provide additional water storage facilities to serve these areas as part of the proposed Fethard regional water supply scheme for which a preliminary report has been submitted to my Department. Additional documentation has been requested from the county council to enable consideration of the matter to be completed but this has not yet been received. The question of providing funds does not arise at this stage.
