It has not, historically, been the practice to publish the State Directory every year. The decision not to publish an edition since 1988 was taken in the context of work pressures and priorities applying since then. However, the question of publishing an updated edition, with some possible improvements in presentation, early in 1991, is under active consideration at present.
Much of the information relating to the Legislature and the functions and staffing of Departments, which is normally available in the State Directory, may be found in the Administration Yearbook and Diary published annually by the Institute of Public Administration.
