50 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the funds available from the EC for the training of students for alternative farming enterprises; the criteria for eligibility; and the location of the training courses which will take place.
Certain Teagasc courses, i.e. the one year residential certificate in agriculture course, the three year certificate in farming course and occasional short courses for adult farmers, which are aided from the European Social Fund, include instruction in alternative farm enterprises. No EC funds are specifically available for training of students in alternative farm enterprises.
