Ceist:216 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education the number of occasions on which a school patron has requested her to disband a board of management; and her decision in each of these cases.
Written Answers. - Boards of Management.
Boards of management, where required, partly or wholly, were replaced with individual managers by the patrons in one case in each of the years 1983 and 1988. In the current year, I approved the application of the patron to nominate a manager in place of a board of management in one case.
In the time available, it has not been possible to verify if there were any other such cases since boards of management were introduced in 1975.
