Vol. 402 No. 9

Written Answers. - Lottery Funding.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

93 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Health the funding, if any, which has been made available from the national lottery in respect of the Achill Day Care Centre and St. Colmans Unit, County Mayo; if an application has been received for further funding in respect of this valuable community service; and if he will indicate his response in this matter.

The Achill Day Care Centre was allocated £40,000 from national lottery funds in 1987-88 and a further £40,000 in 1989. The position in 1990, and subsequent years, is that each health board is given a block allocation of lottery money to assign to authorised community based projects as it sees fit. The question of providing further lottery funding for the Achill Day Care Centre is, therefore, a matter for the Western Health Board.
