Written Answers. - Bailieboro (Cavan) School Development.

Ceist:

180 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for the Environment if he wil make an allocation of money available to Bailieboro Community School Parents' Association for the development of the school's sportsfield; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that £10,000 is needed for the completion of same; and his views on the need for such a development in an area as densely populated with young people as Baileboro.

This project was recommended by Cavan County Council for consideration for a grant under the amenities/recreational facilities grant scheme, 1990. While the project is obviously a desirable one, I did not find it possible to allocate a grant because of the limited funds available for distribution. It would be open to the project sponsors to reapply for a grant in the event of a further similar scheme.
