103 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Marine if he purchased any coastguard material such as flares or vessels from HMS Coastguard in Britain; when these purchases were made; the materials which were purchased; and the location where they have been used in the Irish Coastguard Service.

The Department of the Marine successfully tendered for the purchase of surplus coast rescue equipment from H.M. Coastguard in 1988 and 1990. The equipment purchased did not include flares or vessels. The following items were purchased:
