291 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received proposals from Carrick-on-Suir Urban District Council, County Tipperary for the provision of a sewage treatment plant; if approval for these proposals will be given in 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have received no proposals for a treatment plant at Carrick-on-Suir. A preliminary report for sewage disposal had been with my Department for some time. It would be for the local authority in the first instance to consider whether to upgrade these proposals to incorporate sewage treatment.
