61 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance whether the reconstruction and refurbishment of Government buildings was undertaken in accord with the Department of Finance 1983 Directive relating to the control of cost overruns in capital projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The reconstruction and refurbishment of Government buildings was undertaken and completed in accordance with the Department of Finance 1983 Directive relating to the control of cost over-runs in capital projects. I am pleased to report that the contract was completed both within the budget and the time allowed.
