Vol. 406 No. 3

Written Answers. - Mullingar Hospital Bed Availability.

Paul McGrath

Ceist:

256 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Health if he will confirm the statement made, in his name, by a member of the Midland Health Board that there will be no bed closures at Mullingar General Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath as a result of cutbacks in 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The provision of services at Mullingar General Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath, are matters in the first instance for the Midland Health Board. I have already stated in the House that apart from the normal seasonal closures the level of bed availability approved for 1990 will be maintained during 1991.
