Vol. 407 No. 6

Written Answers. - Gluten Free Meals.

Roger T. Garland

Ceist:

148 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Health if in view of (1) the high incidence of coeliac condition in the Irish population, (2) the high cost of gluten free bread and biscuits and (3) the difficulty in being served gluten free meals, he will advise restaurants and hotels of the necessity of providing such gluten free meals.

My Department will raise the question of the wider availability of gluten free meals referred to by the Deputy with the Irish Hotels Federation and the Restaurant's Association of Ireland.
