51 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Marine if he will give an assurance that no licence for an infill in Dublin Bay will be given to any interest without a prior environmental impact assessment being undertaken; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Consideration of this matter concerns my Department in so far as land reclamation requires a lease under the Foreshore Act, 1933.
To date there is no application for such a lease under consideration for any area in Dublin Bay. Relevant regulations have been made to require mandatory environmental impact assessment where significant reclamation is involved.
